Well . . . the cookie, in this case.

The recipe I’m sharing today is sweet and simple. It will make enough icing to drizzle over 36 cookies, or completely cover 12. This icing is dynamite on sugar cookies, but works for other flavors as well. Here, I used it on a gingerbread variation, and the sweetness of the icing worked really well with the spiciness of the cookies. I figure most people probably know how to do this (or could guess at it) but it is just too good not to share.

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla

  • In a small bowl, stir together sugar, milk, and vanilla with a fork.
  • Once ingredients are well combined, continue adding milk, just one teaspoon at a time, until icing reaches drizzling consistency.
